Packaging & End-of-Line Automation

Connected packaging and line-end processes

Packaging & End-of-Line Automation

We integrate cartoning, case packing, labeling, case sealing, code reading, inspection, conveying and palletizing at the end of the production line to create a continuous flow from finished product to packaged output.

  • Packaging coordination
  • Information verification
  • Cycle coordination
  • End-of-line handling

Packaging Operations

Cartoning

Cartoning

Individual products, components or sets are placed into cartons or suitable packaging containers according to the packaging requirements. Upstream conveying or robots can be coordinated with the product state, orientation and cycle time.

  • Product orientation
  • Packaging matching
  • Conveyor coordination
Case Packing

Case Packing

Products that have completed the preceding packaging stages are loaded into outer cases according to quantity, orientation or arrangement requirements. Conveying, positioning, robots or other case-packing mechanisms can be integrated as appropriate.

  • Quantity arrangement
  • Placement patterns
  • Robot coordination
Labeling

Labeling

Labels are applied at the required position on the product or packaging. The operation can be combined with product identification, code reading and data verification.

  • Label positioning
  • Product identification
  • Information verification
Case Sealing

Case Sealing

Filled cases are sealed according to the packaging requirements, with the operation coordinated with upstream and downstream conveying cycles.

  • Case closing
  • Conveyor connection
  • Cycle coordination
Code Reading & Information Verification

Code Reading & Information Verification

Barcodes, QR codes or other identification information are read to confirm product identity, packaging matches, label information or links to subsequent data.

  • Code reading
  • Identity verification
  • Data linking

Packaging Process Inspection

Packaging state is checked according to project requirements, including presence, position, labels, barcodes, quantities or other packaging results. The focus is quality confirmation within the packaging process.

  • Packaging state
  • Label checks
  • Quantity checks

End-of-Line Handling

Finished-Product Conveying

Packaged products, cases or handling units are conveyed to subsequent stations, inspection points, palletizing areas or pre-dispatch handling areas. The conveying method is selected to suit the product and packaging format.

Diverging & Merging

Products are diverted according to product type, packaging result, destination or production logic. Multiple branch lines can also be merged into the next process.

Buffering & Accumulation

Controlled temporary storage and waiting space balance cycle-time differences between packaging equipment, palletizing and downstream logistics.

Palletizing

Cases or packaged units are stacked on pallets according to the product, packaging format, pallet specification and stacking requirements. Robots or other automated palletizing methods can be used.

Connection to Downstream Logistics

End-of-line equipment is connected with pre-dispatch conveying, warehouse interfaces, lifting equipment or other logistics stages so that finished goods can continue to downstream handling areas.

What We Consider When Designing Packaging & End-of-Line Systems

Packaging and end-of-line equipment are defined by the product, packaging process, cycle time and downstream logistics requirements rather than a fixed equipment package.
